Re: Diplexer

What is the coax cable used for ...., isn't it ultimately just a medium to deliver a lot of different signals from one or more sources to one or more destinations. Isn't that why these signal are put on different frequencies or channels? Nothing is wrong with using diplexers. The trick is to know when the Tx and/or Rx for the HSI is going to be interfered with by anything in the service that your adding. And also, one must be sure that nothing present in the soon to be diplexed cable, like existing video, is going to interfere with the service your wanting to add through that diplexer. In a situation like his, a diplexer would be my first option as well. And wrapping a house with cable would be my last option. You just need to know what frequencies are being used by all service providers that will be present.

It seems to me another thread touched on this very subject a while back. And in one case, I know a cable system changed their Rx frequency, which triggered a whole lot of diplexer related service calls. Just something to keep in mind.

To each his own, but I like to do things the easiest way that will work, as long as there is no compromise to the integrity of the service.
