Tyrone,
What MASTEC could do is roll up in a tight little ball and roll away. Because of their actions toward their contractor / employees they have a constant turn over. I believe most people arrive at work expecting to do a good job. Mistakes happen and also good things happen. People get better in their jobs. If you constantly penalize the mistakes and ignore the achievments people will leave. You are left with a constant retraining operation that is more expensive to run than a shop with folks who know what they are doing and go do it every day. Since you are pissing away funds on retraining and do overs there is less money left for awards, bonus and higher rates.
It goes like that.
Give someone an impossible workload on a route that has too many driving hours and then back charge poor and late work. What do you think will happen?
Anyone else?
Joe
