I know two Doctors here in Pensacola on a personal level and I have asked both of them what they think about the bill. One is a prominent GYN and the other is an ER Doctor. The GYN has been in practice for 30 years and he told me if the bill is passed into law he will retire his practice. About a third of his patients are medicaid and the rest are HMO. He gets paid less for the medicaid patients than he does for the patients with an HMO. If this bill passes most of his patients would fall under the new Health Care System and his practice would be over run with new patients and he feels that he would not be able to provide the best care possible. His practice will make less money and he and his staff will have to work longer hours. With all that said his main issue was that the quality of health care. I am also curious as to why we have not heard more from the medical professionals on this issue.
