I like how you can say it does matter but are unable to articulate why...
The cheap labor is going on because installation professionals are not organizing to protect their profession. The only thing that has kept the flood gates from opening up is that contractors are a necessary evil to a fluctuating work load and most contractors are not going to take on the liability of their crews inherent with post wiring and working in peoples homes. Telling people they need a truck, tools, and ability to go a month without a check slows it down a little still.
Here is your clue... how about legislating to fine owners 10k per incident for continuing to work that cheap ass laborer doing shoddy work that I have to clean up after for FREE because every scope of work is all inclusive!!!
I can assure you I have and will sue for less than 10k if you are screwing with my account receivables.
