On balance I did run into poorly functioning individuals in the "hood in Baltimore and Glen Burnie; drunks and druggies mostly
but, using the morning hours I never felt I was in danger or refused a job. I was never offered a disco that needed to be done after dark or was asked to collect money in these places.
AND I gotta say the majority of the people I met were good folks who happened to be poor. Best quotes: "Mom left with all our money...Dad is going to get more money "cause he works hard every day...but that bitch is history!" Then there was, ..."we had a few drinks for breakfast yesterday and didn't get to the cable office with any money for their bill. . .turn on the MF next week!"
Kids have it hard there and my comment about parents with or without guns was poorly considered on my part.
