Talked to a contractor in Pgh. last year who was doing collect or disconects.  He informed me that i needed to have a truck, tools and a ladder.   I said i didn't need a ladder that i had hooks that were quicker and safer.  And since 99% of the disconects would be at the pole i wouldn't need a ladder.  He told me that hooks were Illegal !!!   When a contractor when is that ignorant of the industry you don't even  think of working for him, nomatter how good the pay would be.  Its just that knid of employer that is going to get somebody killed.
