HIKER I,m just wondering why it is so bad to look at your feet. when i climb, i look at the pole and what is on it before i go up. i look at my hook to be sure it went in good , did not hit speed crack ,knot ,above old gaff mark , or the outside shell of the pole is not splintering. i still look up to see where i'm at ,but i like the assurance that my hook is set well. i've seen you say this a couple times and was just wondering, it seems unsafe to never look. is this a power thing or what?
