I use a bandpass filter with an Avantron and generally I am seeing -52dBc at the node. With a DSPi and no bandpass filter we see about 48-50. I'm not to sure about DSAM.
Like Joe mentioned I would check a QAM, we look for a 36MER at the node min with no pre/post errors. If your MER is bad then you may need to clean fibers or optimize the laser based on your channel loading, assumming the headend is good.
