The management in my division has taken particular interest in us doing Node reports. I've only been in the industry for 6 years. Therefore, the CATV world I've been brought up in has been centered around Digital (MER); As it should be because this is the backbone of the industry now. But our Node report requires C/N measurements for our remaining analog service. If I check C/N with My DSAM 6000 or SDA 5000 I get failing readings (~ 39-43 CN) at the node. I've been told by a couple of the Old Timers that it is necessary to run a test lead into the van and use bandpass filters to get successful results. Is this the only way (besides shutting down adjacent carriers of course)? Any suggestions would be great.
