I dont see where you think cable is so much better than dsl im sorry to break the news to you i have worked both sides and dsl is faster. At least at peak times my service does not slow down due to the shared network the cable company provides to its customers. When i switched to dsl from cable i have to computers in my home i put them side by side and my dsl at 3.0 was faster than cable 8.0 around here by far. I could do a speed test with the cable company i was with medicom which said i was getting a 8 meg service i was barley getting 4 when i tested my dsl from embarq i was getting just a little above 3 meg since that always push a little more down the line to get a true connection.
