Background checks/Comcast

I heard that Comcast is making it so that if a misdemeanor comes up on your background check for 10 years or less you can not work for them and if a felony comes up at all you can't ever work for them. Is this true? Not that it will hurt me but I know some guys that haven't done anything wrong for years and this would hurt them.
