The "FedEx" thing I think your referring to is H.R.6111 "The Employee Misclassification Prevention Act". This is the bill currently still working it's way thru the Washington channels that would force all those "Primes" to properly classify thier work force. If you are called a "Subcontractor" and are 1099, but your prime is telling you when/where/how and treating you like an employee, then under that new bill, your Prime would have you misclassisfied. The Prime would then have to do away with that 1099, and put you on the payroll and subject your pay to the normal with-holdings.
I've already contacted my Congressman and stressed for him to support that bill. I would recommend you do the same.
As for all of you Hack-Prime Owners ...... Your thiefing days are numbered.
