Adding a split between modem and tv

Now that Jr. has moved out, what used to be a bdrm, I claimed as "MY" office... with sweeties permission - of course!

There is one cable outlet in there, which goes directly to the modem and router, etc...

I "Need" a tv in there, or what's the use of having the space.

The signal levels are exceptional in the house, and Internet is as good as it gets for Roadrunner.

You think I'll defeat my purpose if I split the cable at the wall; one coax to the modem, and one to the set?

Good advise appreciated, thanks.
