what you say is true and the old bag of bones and me had it rough when Hugo came thru. We have an old prime pump we used for fresh water and we always have stocked food as a way of life our parents had taught us. of course we did not need to protect our family and home thru the use of fire power but we were prepared for that also. we helped our neighbors with water and food and we had the support of our neighbors in clearing the roads and yards of debris. of course we live in the country and folks around here believe in god,country and family. having said that, we did not face a long protracted time without the modern things in life so we can only imagine what may or may not have taken place.
