The reasoning for the solid copper is not signal degredation in the system, it is for the voltage drop in the system. The new HD recievers switch from even lnb to odd lnd with a 16.6 volt signal, the reciever pushes out and 18 volt to switch. if the signal drops below the 16.6 mark, it switches back ot the odd transponders. Hence the problem of the reciever 150 plus feet away, copper clad has too much loss in voltage, solid copper can carry it without a problem. DTV will institute policies, never explain them.
