Yes on the forwrd reverse. If you have a 3.5 loss output on either leg and reverse the input to the output (i think you get what i mean) the signal going thru the splitter gets the same loss either direction. Keep in mind , though, the levels coming out of a receiver are different than the ones coming in. Oh, man , now you're makin' me think! If i'm understanding you correctly , you're trying to back feed the out put of a sat rcvr thru the same input line and ya can't do it! Gotta remember you have voltage on that line, from the receiver, which would absolutely give you some funky picture not to mention voltage going in to your tv. Maybe i 'm just not comprehending what you're getting at! Little tired, maybe i'll snap out of it! Anyway, good luck and we ought to be able to clear this up. Sounds fairly simple. Later, Mike M.
