Yes the problem has mulitiple causes. Employees in CATV have to take some responsibilty for the low rates. The workers accept the rates, and they dont use the tools this country has that allows workers to bargain their wages and not have them dictated to them. The workers do nothing, so they get screwed. IMO, we're getting what we ask for. We ask for nothing, we get nothing.
That $19 diso probably would be a $23 diso. But, MSOs know that the primes will get someone to do it at $9 so they go ahead and pay $19. Good example of how non MSO employees are saving MSOs money. Cheaper labor is what they are getting.
