It is a mean cycle, now isn't it.
MSO pays less because Primes bid less, because tech's accept less, which makes primes bid even less, which makes MSO's pay even less.
But that whole cycle still requires the tech to accept less, so it can be reversed. If good techs just says "no" they leave the primes without any other recourse but to raise rates (or even easier - stop pilfering 70% of the receipts) or ultimately lose their contract via poor work quality. MSO's then will be inclined to increase rates for primes with better techs, which will prompt the prime to pay better, which will filter down to a tech receiving more, which will help eliminate the 60+ hour work weeks.
