I think your ideas are cool. But I think wife is correct. There is already a certification track in the cable industry. Unfortunately, I dont know any company that requires it if you want to work for them.
IMO if you got the energy, resources and time to put your ideas to work. I would just work at trying to get install companies to recognize and/or require the certs that already exist. Its a hard sell because most install companies dont seem to think this is important.
