I have been doing dish and directv for about 6 years now and I never use a bird dog. I don't like to relie on those I feel it gives you a crutch instead of useing you're know how.. I bi-pass the dpp WITH 61.5 AND MAKE IT A DIRECT LINE pull in the signal and peak it out 110 or higher.. then put it back to the DPP or make sure it is in the 3rd spot on the 34 or 44 switch..that is the key make sure it is inorder on the switch. makes things alot easyer..I know not everyone has the chance to work with a partner but life is easyer with this... I don't have much 12days..I hate when I got to TC and I have to raise the signal..The bird dog might say 95 or 100 on 119 and you check the signal inside and it's 75 to 80%..People tend to forget you have signal loss with Gb and switches and cable length barrels etc.. Even though you find signal with the BDOG you should check it inside and peak it out..it's amazing how a 4th of an inch or less peaks it 10 to 20 more %% on you're signal even 4th of an inch left or right.. I'm not perfect but i've been around long enought to help..Being the only women around the mid-west for 12 yrs speaks for itself..
