The reason I raised the subject of "what about the illegal's kids" and what would be done with them is that you know there is no way our elected officials will just dump those kids (born here or not) across the border while their parents went to jail. If they did there would more than just the usual liberal Hollywoodites calling for their heads. And if those kids wound up in our already limited foster care system Average-Joe-Taxpayer would be bi+chin' like nobodies business.
The first business of order in the debate on illegals is to "SECURE THE BORDERS!" You can't start throwing the illegals over the fence until there is in fact a fence to throw them over. And a 700 mile fence on a border that is well over twice that length is not going to do any good. I can see it now, the US side of the fence will be nice, clean and neatly maintained (at taxpayer expense) while the Mexican side will have arrows spray painted all along the full 700 miles of it, pointing the way around.
