I agree with Root1. Put up or shut up. If you are soooo great at what you do, why couldn't you keep your job?
If you are in the "I won't take less than 70%" (aka I'm so glazed, I think this is 1982) phase, sorry to say that it's time for you to wake up. Primes and their subs who have to hire like you are so penny pinched it's not even funny. Do you know that based on what you described, you should be classified as an employee and not a sub. If you have a license, then you can be 1099d. Ask the state, ask any workers comp company who covers CA, ask any Payroll service, ask any IRS rep -- if you so dare. This business has changed. The smart techs all went In House. And no wonder.....
