Wanting time off is not the same as some company defined quasi mandatory work week of 40 hours. The best techs know they're needed so they work, leaving it up to the prime to respect reality and limit his/her hours in meaningful ways.

But I'm still waiting for you to rationalize your self descriptive "company started by installers for installers". If you don't pay out any higher than the others, indeed your cut is generally larger, and you don't reimburse job related costs like the others, what exactly do you do besides treat me like family? (which, by the way, is quite an insult because my mother-in-law treats me like dirt)
