As a manager, here's my business model: 10 guys on overtime are cheaper than 20 guys working straight time. I'd rather leave a van parked than get 10 phone calls a day by some idiot who can't read a map book.
I'm better off with a smaller, lighter, better crew than to add weight for nothing. Sometimes it nuts with guys out late, but good techs are tough.
less trucks, less gas, less insurance, less sick/vacation time = more money for the guys who deserve it.
Dead weight is a call-back waiting to happen.
weaker techs should go home
