Re: Super Dish And Dish 500 X Help

When you say you can't find the 121, do you mean on the install summary it shows an X where 121 should be? If so, (providing you are locked in on 119) continue after the summary shows you the X, to keep cancelling until you get back to the "acquiring satellite panal" then wait for it to acquire, and the program information download will fill in the green bar graph. After it is filled in you will receive the 121.

On the other subject of toners, I use a pocket toner ($15) . But before we knew of these we didn't even use a 9 volt battery. We hooked one end to the receiver and took the 13 volt signal on our tongue.

And yes, the 121 is a different LNB. It is an Fss rather than a Dbs. The Dbs lnb's are used on birds within the Clark Orbit (10,426 miles) The Fss lnb"s are used in the old K-Band AM orbit, twice as far out and serving the AM bands. radio, radar detectors etc. Being twice as far out is why the signal is always weaker than the 110 and119. P.S. if you have a service call that says their locals on 121 are pixelating and checkerboarding and it always happens at the same time of day, for instance every day at 4 PM, we go to find out the hubby comes home from work at 4 PM and shuts the car off in the driveway but doesn't turn off the radar detector (you see the little red light still on). Inside on the TV the channel is checkered and you go out and shut off the radar detector, and Magic, no interference. This is only typical of the Superdish and 121. The !000 Dish using 129 for the locals is not effected by this scenario because it is a Dbs lnb. We have also corrected this problem with detectors next door on the driveway or across the street.
