Ahh yes, the old radar detector interference. I first incountered this on a Primestar system. I went back to that house and re-installed the system 3 times before the customer left then came back 30 minutes later that I figured that one out.
I have since then ran into the same problem on a Directv HD system using the new triple sat dish. The vehicle witht he radar detector in it was parked 10' away and it was pointing in the general direction of the dish.
