You say u've been doing it since 95. I agree, they have always wanted you to run phone lines, but back then they paid alot more for an install. Even 4 years ago, when I got into this buisness, they paid alot more for an install. Now, they pay chicken scratch and enforce that you hook up the phone lines.
If u make piece work, you are in buisness of making a profit. So when u have to pay 3 times the amount for gas, pay higher material costs; you loose ur profit. Plus half the time u are running extra lines for free(TIVO's).
In order for us to make a profit, 1 of 2 things have to happen. Either a pay increase (YEAH RIGHT) or something has to go. In my opinion and many others, its the phone lines.
