If your letting someone use your truck/tools/insurance, that split doesn't sound all that bad. but my question would be are you paying this person as a sub or a employee? When i worked in house and the employer was letting me use his truck paying my taxes and maintance on the truck i was getting a 50/50 split. And i was having to pay for my own gas. Now if your paying the guy as a sub but he's using your truck.. hmm i don't know.. that split would be fair to me... What I normally pay out to sub's is 80-90% if they have all there own stuff. A employee I would pay out at 60-65%. The main thing is you want to make sure the guy that is out doing all the work is making a good living.. What a lineman or splicer does everyday isn't a easy job so make sure you pay then as much as you can... As long as your not trying to be a "cable pimp" and you honestly think your doing your best to pay your guys as much as you can then who can argue with that..
