Very well put.....and undebatable!
The only people who are rich in the union are the guys who run it at the very top, and the money they have is of questionable origins. The guys at the bottom finance the Union with the belief that the money they put in will be used to protect them when push comes to shove. When the line is drawn in the sand, it's the workers who form it, giving up the pay they should be earning that day to strike. They think that it will make things better for them, but many loose their homes, cars, money etc. trying to stand up for whats right while the union heads and the powerful corporations supposedly negotiate on the peoples behalf. These guys are still getting paid, while the workers die a slow death. Many times in the end, nothing changes, and all of that grandstanding meant nothing. Again, look at the grocery union strike in California. In the end, nothing changed, and we discovered that the head union guys were living it up with 6 figure incomes, while their members became homeless, and all of this happened during the Holidays.
