your wrong about that. Company and unions sign contracts. that 50% goes straight to the union no where else. your talking about something different. what we call insentive. what ever is in your w2 half is yours half is union. back in the 90's when time warner had thier rebuild(NY) contractors will pay by production. but TW was union. contractors and employees had to be union. when a sub invoiced one weeks work about $15,000 -$25,000. hes going to be paid 1099. but the union wanted no subs. and the subs will not work inhouse. so they solved the proplem by putting everyone inhouse on minimum wage. so they paid everyone w2 the balance went 1099 to the subs company and was called insentive. but as usual the union found out.
