NOAA Announces Serious Hurricane Threat in '06

Not that it comes as a surprise to anyone, but NOAA and the National Hurricane Center have announced an extremely active hurricane prediction for the 2006 hurricane season begining in less than 10 days. They are calling for 4 - 6 major storms to hit the United States Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coastlines.

To prepare, the State of Florida has removed sales tax this week on all items for sale that are considered "preparedness items" (ie, generators, batteries, flashlights etc.). A good opportunity to get ready for those of us in the Sunshine State.

How well is your business prepared to take on storm damage work ? Are you financially set to bring on extra crews from out of state and get them paid in a timely manner ? Last year, I was contacted by numerous folks who needed cash while they were waiting on invoices to pay well after it had become a crisis situation. Be prepared in advance if you are going to be taking on this extra commitment. Good luck to all.
