Hey Ncabletoolong, are you sure about fiber VOP at .67? That is slower than coax. I think that light speeding down a glass tunnel has to be faster than a radio frequency being pushed down a copper clad wire.
To the OP, VOP will only help you find the distance to a fault which is why it is important to know the vop of any cable you are dealing with.
Ohm's Law and Loop resistance will help if you plan on designing cable systems but for field techs being able to check for resistance is much more valuable.
