I come on here from time to time. As a seasoned cable contractor of 18 years, I love to hear what other guys are up to. Unfortunately, I'm still working my butt off trying to pay the mortgage in this business. How did we all let it get so bad? All I ever see now are foreign kids who can barely speak English, if at all. These scabs come in for peanuts and hack the cable systems to hell. The companies let them because they'd rather suck up 60 or 70% for themselves instead of getting quality installs or construction. It's killing me! In the last 2 years Comcast has cut contractor rates by 45%. It's about time to get out I think. Shot, last week was so slow I only took a $400 check home... and I provide my own truck, tools, etc. Is there light at the end of this tunnel or is it time to ride off into he sunset and say goodbye to this business?
