Here is why we get pay cuts. DirecTV, Dish, or Cable are always competting for the customer. Always trying to give the customer a better deal. Well, those companies don't want to take that pay cut, so they pass it down to the HSP's or whatever cable uses. The Owners dont want to see a paycut, so they pass it down to the team leads, well they don't wana see a paycut so they pass it down to the techs. We cant pass it down any further. Guys, we are at the bottom of the food chain.
In the past, there weren't so many of us, so we were valued more. Now that DirecTV requires the HSP's to supply company trucks or vans, they will hire anyone. The HSP i used to work at, just in one office went through a 100 techs a year. Now with the company trucks, they go through about 150 to 200 a year.
I belive its time to learn a new trade. The work for cable and sat, is going to the lowest bidder.
