Hey Crawl, the laws are already their. We just need more installers to use them. As you can see, laws alone dont stop companies from doing things. Especially if you have a workforce that will never use them to theirs and their families advantage.
Thats really sad. All this guys is saying is that these companies should obey the rules. You are jumping on him like hes the bad guy. The company is the one who is breaking the law, and your response is to get over it. Simply amazing. Its no wonder the things that occur in this business go on. No matter what, the suits way is the right way to most folks.
Do you not realize that by the employer cheating he is able to underbid a company who plays by the rules. Companies who realize the "true" value of the work performed cant compete with the underbidding done by companies who cheat. This effects the installer greatly because the company who has the work in their area is most likely not going to be the company that has the most respect for the work techs perform, which means lower pay. Notice how the solution to this problem has been to cut installer pay. Not demand more from prime or anything else, just cut the pay. "They're dawgs, they wont mind, and those who do mind will be labeled by their own peers as lazy and/or trouble makers. " Words spoken by the suits, are they correct? Its sure looks like it.
What a great position for companies to be in. The companies in the business are allowed to break laws, which enables them to underbid and under pay techs, they have anyone who calls them on this labeled as lazy trouble makers by their peers. Damn, it must be nice. To be in this position and dont have to even use illegals. Screwing workers with social security cards, the same ways they screw workers with green cards. I guess this is the new American way.
