I am in no position to speak for others, but Im thinking things would be better for all if companies like yours would stand up to the primes, MSO, DTV, and DISH. Just say no. When they ask you to demand more out of your people but cut the rates, say no thank you. If this was done, I think many of installer issues would go away. Is become common practice fir installers to be told " I respect what you do, but I must cut your pay, Im sorry". Although this a very touching statement it doesnt change the fact thay you SAY you respect what I do, but you show me the ultimate disrespect and cut my pay.
Just say no. Put yourself in a position to attract and retain good talent.
