No, it is my opinion that a well treated tech has no need for a union. But those techs who now or in the near future are facing major changes in their companies attitudes towards the techs (i.e., companies who are switching from piece rate POV techs to mostly hourly rate COV techs and in the process cutting wages nearly 50%) might well benefit from union representation.
The question maybe should have been, "Do you feel that you (as an HSP tech) have a need for union representation?" The answer to that is, "yes".
I'd be very interested to hear the answer to that from other HSP techs.
