DVI output is a 1080i 16 million color output.

The television does not reproduce 1080i
It might be HDTV but max resolution is 1020x768
Thats 720p or i ,max output . ( Progressive or Interlaced )
TV will still show hdtv but only 720 pixels
Resolution on DVI output ( from Cable box ) is set to high. needs to be set to match resolution of monitor. Cable box keeps adjusting its dvi output to match monitors input. so your getting video output error until it recongnizes resolution and adjusts. I Bet ( I hope ) You don't get error message when you use rf output.
