I feel ya!! The one thing that gives people hope in this busines is that everyone knows there is a ton of money in both cable and sat. It just doesnt make it to the technicians. Right now if you were to work with a fair local DTV dealer it is normal to see dtv work at 90/25. The money is there. If you get with the right people you can make a very good life for yourself, its just that the right people are harder and harder to find.
People are always throwing out the figure $1,000 week. Yes that is a decent earning. But its only decent if youre an employee. If you are contractor making $1000 a week, thats low. Subtract money for supplies, insurance, and retirement, what do you have. Most times its required to work 6 days a week to achieve that $1000 goal, so forget about quality time with the family.
Something needs to be done. And fast.
