Relatively simple! they were conquerers just as germany, france , britain and the like were! they made it as far as spain and the europeans took it back. they've conquered a lot of sand. their people have always been poor, always will be! when they found a resource,OIL, they got rich. not the , the conquerers, and their system keeps the peasants in their place, much like the rich in America are successfully doing to it's own working class. It's not middle class anymore, it's working class (similar to peasant) and not likely to change short of a revolution! I don't believe most Americans have what it takes to stand up to the tyrants any more. Sad state of affairs if you ask me, you didn't but i thought i'd say so anyway! Have a great day! Mike M.
