Re: The Plan!

Have you ever wondered why a third-world nation can go through several revolutions and never once gain a functional government? We have sent the Marines to Haiti no less than five times. Even with our help, they still can't manage their own system. Your argument is that these countries are third-world because it is somehow the fault of us first-worlders. I don't buy that. If the people don't like the status of their country, it is up to them to change it. That is exactly what we did here in this nation. We had it with British rule and so we as a people decided to change it. We are a people who are capable of doing that and creating a successful follow-up. The people that make up these third world nations do that constantly and it seems that they have to oust the current leadership every decade or so. They don't have the 200+ year track record we have, or the even longer track record England has, or France, or Italy, etc.

If you are really interested in seeking out an answer to this type of issue, I suggest you look at Egypt. In ancient times, they were an advanced civilization. They conceived of great pyramids, excelled at math and astronomy, and was a vital marketplace to the world at that time. Nowadays, they are one of the poorest nations. There are children begging in the streets. It is so bad, that people even amputate their children's extremities to increase the amount of pity a tourist would feel, which in turn increases the money they get from begging. So, what happened to Egypt between then and now?
