Cable ain't going anywhere. Find some other employment for the next 6 months that might even pay more than your making now and then go back. Heck you may not wanna go back.
Fortunatley for me I came into this Business from IT and can work various fields related to low voltage as well, and with those many years in the business you'll find you have value elsewhere.
