I wonder to myself how people post adds for crews in Florida and the storm hasen't even hit there yet. I guess their comment would be ,we just wanted to be prepared. One thing that really discust me is the prices some of the people are offering. Whats the deal subbing from a sub. The Prime hourly rate is in the neighborhood of 275.00 per hour. When I see people that work for chump change it makes me sick. People talk about low prices , its quite evident to see where they came from. If people don't learn what prices they should be getting paid , this industry is headed for rock bottom. We just as soon hang a sign around our necks will work for food. The only way we will get the attention we need is an across the board national strike . If everybody would pull together for just one day and not work , the issues of money in out industry would make national news. That day could be used as a warning "WE WILL BE HEARD" I remember years back during a truckers strike involving the Teamsters Union . My cousin had balls enough to drive his rig . As he went under an overpass , a large piece of concrete was dropped on his truck , it came in through his Co drivers windshield killing his Co driver. They never caught the people responsible. He didn't drive his truck anymore during the strike . Now don't get me wrong here , I'm not saying what has to be done, merely voiceing my opinion of what we need to do . I for one would like to orgnise a march on the Capitol in Washington D.C. , I know that would require a permit and more. We need to pick a date , time and place , for an organazational meeting to discuss the future of our industry. Its time to stop spinning our wheels and get something done. How many of you are with me ???????? All comments pro and con are welcome. Thanks in advance for everyones imput.
