Sometimes, I think the contractors should just walk away from these deals. I think the Cable companies would then go into a panic, the prices would rise, the scope of services be reasonable.
If the deal were hourly, then the Cable companes would loosen their standards real quickly. My first suppression job was hourly and my rate was $62.50 per hour in New Orleans in 1999. My second suppression job was also hourly @ $57.50 per hour in Tucson. it's been footage ever since.
However, there is ALWAYS someone to do it for less.
