You are well versed and I feel the same ...... Unions are a safety net for those who can't or don't want to produce.
I belonged to a union while I worked for the state as a telcom tech.... THE WORST ATMOSPHERE I HAVE EVER WORKED IN !!!!
10 people too many to do the job, they all stood around and bitched about how lazy the other guy was.
If they had more work to do they'd have alot less time to worry about the other guy.
