Just wondering if anyone knew the reasoning behind the jacketing of the cable pulled over the connectors, tighten down with screw clamps and then heat shrunk? for the life of me i cant figure why someone would tell there splicers to do this. old dawgs speak up. i have only seen this on 10,15, or 20 year old taps.
