My first thought is, that maybe they thought it would make a stronger connection and possibly help it from getting kinked at the connector...
Who knows what they were thinking?
In Tucson, AZ they did whole areas where the UG taps had a 90 on each leg and they faced the ground!
How about 1.125 armored trunk cable where the connectors are like hand grenades and they cost $145 a piece?
It's funny to see what has occured in different systems across the US. Every place has thier own qwirks don't they?
