I was working down in Orlando years ago (Telsat) and they had me doing that in the UG, what a joke, they not only wanted a hose clamp around the jacket before you shrank the boot, but they also wanted it cut off, now these clamps are stainless steel and more often than not when you cut them off it left a jagged edge which would split the boot when you shrank it, in my opinion, this idea came up from some desk jockey with too much time on his hands, I mean flooded is just that, meaning if there is any breech in the jacket it floods out to protect the cable so why in the world would you put a clamp on it? I have seen UG used a lot for aerial in the south, this is for squirrel chews, those little ****s can't stand the taste.
it's easyer to ask for forgiveness than permission
