Re: Insurance in Florida

It is my understanding that W/C is only required for actual employees. Self employed can waive their W/C and in a Florida corporation, all officers can also waive their W/C. If a sub uses employees, they MUST have W/C. I have attached a standard workers comp waiver that we use for your use. It has been reviewed by our attorney's and is supposedly legitemate...Good luck!

WORKERS COMENSATION WAIVER

I, ________________________________, sole proprietor of
____________________________________________________,
with no employees and as principal owner and operator, elect not to, nor am I required to obtain or hold workers compensation insurance within the state of _________________.

Furthermore, I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless _________________________________________ and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and subcontractors in the event of a work related injury, accident, illness or disease.

I also understand and agree that I am required by law to obtain the proper workers compensation and liability insurances. If I add or hire employees, I will obtain said insurances prior to allowing any employee to work for me, or assist me in any work, or accompany me to any worksite for the above named companies and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and subcontractors.
