As I install DTV systems I occasionally run across a customer who plans to keep the CATV running with the DTV service. Most of the time this is no problem. The multiswitches and diplexers seem to pass both signals OK. The problem arrises when they try to use the internet with the CATV system. I end up running another wire instead of using the diplexers. Any explanations out there?
